01 · Setup

Get the basics right before you spend a dollar.

Half the businesses that come to us are not underspending. They are spending into a setup that leaks. This is the fortnight that fixes that.

What it is

Everything downstream is built on this.

A social calendar is worthless if the profile it posts to has the wrong phone number on it. A cold calling campaign is worthless if nobody can find the business when the call works. Foundations is the unglamorous part that makes the rest pay.

We go through what already exists, list what is broken, fix it, and agree one number that says whether the next three months worked. Not six dashboards. One number, and the honest reason it is the right one for your business.

Most businesses have never had this done properly. It is usually the cheapest work we do and the piece that changes the most.

Included

What the two weeks covers.

Everything below is part of the work, not an upsell after you have signed. If something is not on this list, ask before you assume it is covered.

  • Profile and page auditevery account you own, plus the ones you forgot you owned.
  • Business listingsGoogle, Facebook and the directories that matter in your sector.
  • Contact detailschecked, consistent and actually monitored by someone.
  • Trackingso the next three months can be measured instead of guessed at.
  • Tone and messagingwritten down once so five people can post like one business.
  • The one targetagreed with you, not handed to you.
  • A first content calendardrafted, ready for your approval.
  • A written handoverso you own the setup even if we stop working together.

What it deliberately is not

  • A rebrand. If your logo needs work we will say so, but that is a separate job with a separate designer.
  • A website build. We will tell you honestly if the site is the bottleneck.
  • A strategy deck. You get a short document you can read on your phone, not forty slides.

How it runs

How the two weeks runs.

  1. Day one

    The conversation

Not a discovery workshop. One honest call about what the business actually needs to happen in the next six months.

  2. Days two to four

    The audit

We go through every account, listing and tool you have, and write down what is broken. You see the list, unedited.

  3. Days five to eight

    The fixes

Profiles corrected, listings claimed, tracking put in place, access sorted so nothing is locked to an ex-employee's email.

  4. Days nine to eleven

    The target

We agree the one number that says whether this is working, and why that number and not a vanity one.

  5. Day twelve

    The handover

A short written summary, the first calendar drafted, and a decision on what happens next.

One point of contact. The setup work is done with you, not sent to you.
If the foundations are wrong, every dollar after that is just paying to be found faster and disappoint people quicker.

Honest fit

Who this actually suits.

We would rather lose the job than take one we cannot do well. If you are on the right-hand list, say so on the call and we will point you somewhere better.

A good fit if

  • You have accounts but nobody has looked at them properly in a year.
  • Marketing has been done by whoever had a spare afternoon.
  • You are about to spend real money and want the setup right first.
  • You have changed name, address, owner or focus and it has never been tidied up.

Probably not yet if

  • You are already running well and just want more output.
  • You want someone to post today and sort the rest later.
  • You need a new website before anything else makes sense.

Questions

The things people actually ask.

Can you do this without taking on the ongoing work?

Yes. Plenty of businesses take the setup, the written handover and the target, and run the rest themselves. We would rather you left with a working setup than stayed on a retainer you did not need.

What if the audit says the problem is not marketing?

Then that is what the audit says. It happens. Sometimes the issue is pricing, capacity or the fact that nobody answers the phone. You will hear it plainly, and we will tell you if we are not the right people to fix it.

Do we lose access to anything?

The opposite. A large part of this work is making sure the business owns its own accounts, not a former staff member, a past agency or a personal email nobody can get into any more.

What does your setup look like today?

Then this is the right place to start. Two weeks, an honest list, and a decision at the end of it.
